USA Brokers - The Investment Brokers Club
Generally speaking, brokers are people who negotiate deals between two or more parties. They are the middlemen who typically understand a specific scenario and the overall industry. Always, there is at least one buyer and one seller involved in each transaction. Brokers can be individual people working on behalf of themselves, or can be part of larger companies such as brokerage firms. And, they are found in many industries such as investments, insurance, real estate, and the sales of other large ticket items. This website, however, will discuss the aspects of USA Brokers, namely what we call, The Investment Brokers Club.
Indeed, the term "investments" covers a very large territory. Investments can be made in almost any capacity, and as such, there are many types of brokers, each requiring their industry's licenses and certification. Each enterprise will also have its own set of rules or ethics which must be followed, and generally, brokers who do not toe the line can have their credentials revoked, and they can be barred from brokering any further transactions. They are accountable not only to their clients, but also to legal bodies, and specific industry or government boards.
Moreover, people with similar interests often form "investment clubs". Some individuals feel safer in groups, and frequently, costs are lower because the group is acting as one. Also, for investments that require large sums of capital, the mandated amounts may be too high for some people. By forming an investment club, they can pool resources, easily meeting the minimum dollar criteria for the investment plus the members can easily exchange the latest useful investing tips. It provides them, too, the opportunity for greater returns, since they have committed a larger portion totally as a group, than separately as individuals.
Once a group is formed, the members search for a broker to meet their needs. Remember that the average individual in most instances cannot complete the transaction on their own due to legal constraints. The transaction requires a qualified, licensed broker. While the investment club might find someone who works independently, more often than not, they will probably choose an individual from one of the big, well-known firms.
Obviously, before choosing a broker, investors should make a checklist of sorts, including their goals for the investments, what they hope to accomplish, items to verify in terms of due diligence when researching the broker's credentials, and whether or not they should meet the broker in person or deal directly with someone online. These are all points that we will discuss on USAB.org.
Additionally, we will touch upon the differences in brokers such as FOREX brokers, Real Estate investment brokers, Over-The-Counter brokers, Exchange brokers, Discount brokers, as well as the definition of Prime Brokerage and the details of the bank CD market. Whether you have started looking for a broker, or would like to be involved in making small investments, our site will provide you with a few tidbits to get started. Just understanding the terminology helps, and can make the process much easier and more comfortable for you.
